Steve Price Steve Price grew up in Hudson, NY, a small, depressed town known historically for prostitution and whale processing. Parts of Ironweed were filmed there, and Basin's Cigar Shop sold out of Juicy Fruit Gum shortly after One Flew Over the Coo-Coo's Nest began playing at the Community Theater. Price became a journalist at the age of 15, writing off-beat human interest stories for The River Valley Chronicle. In 1983, he earned a B.A. in English with a concentration in creative writing from Vassar College, then studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York. He worked as a copywriter at Saatchi & Saatchi in New York. His commercials have won awards and been showcased on The World's Funniest Commercials hosted by Leslie Neilson. His story, "Fun Before You Die" was adapted as a short by September Films in 1993, and other stories and poems of his have been published in numerous literary magazines. He is the recipient of The O'Malley Prize for Fiction. "Elizabeth Hates Harvey" is his first screenplay. |
